I find jigsaw puzzles a great way to clear the mind - when its raining and all other forms of distraction have been exhausted ;-). I had a cursory ‘don’t reinvent the wheel’ look on Google but only found a couple of noddy games. So I’ve knocked together my own quick Flex/Flickr Jigsaw mesh up. It still has the odd issue -portraits need some work.
The picture is randomly selected from flicker then broken into pieces for you to reassemble. Just to make things interesting, you are not initially shown the picture. ‘Next’ will create a new jigsaw. You can click on the picture’s title to open its page in Flickr.
Anyway have a play and report what you think.
Enjoy…

I’ll resist the temptation to make any bad puns on the name ;-). Well I finally have one and have spent the whole day playing Zelda - what fun. I’m sure this is the start of many a wasted hour.
Today is the start of a month long vacation

You can now geotag your photos on Flicker. I’ve been tagging the ones I know.
The satellite imagery is better than the google maps.

I’ve Improved the trees and added a cursor.
Check out my new game Game. Move by clicking in a corner (hold the mouse down for constant movement).

Ok so its not quite a game fully featured game yet – just the starts of the graphics engine.

The morning was spent Coasteering around Newquey. Coasteering is basically climbing along a cliff then jumping off into the sea (from increasingly higher and more fear inducing ledges). I knew we would be doing something but I had not imagined this! – Great fun but reminds you that you are no longer 13.
The afternoon was spent sea kayaking… This will be remembered for a long time. After taking the rip current out of the bay we prepared to surf some waves back to shore. There was an onshore breeze and it wasn’t rough. Then came a set of monster waves. I caught the first and had fun but I looked behind to see carnage - 5 upturned kayaks. Paddled back out to help. The RNLI Lifeguards had seen it too and came to help in their speedboat - kindly giving some a lift back to shore. As I said – memorable (and fun). All praise to J who kept going despite a buggered knee and kayak with a mind of its own.
Thanks Weez
Microsoft labs have been busy with a 3d photo tool called photosynth. It takes your photos and uses some cunning algorithms to work out the relative positions of the photos. Then it displays the photos in a pseudo 3d environment allowing you to move around…
I look forward to giving it a go.
